Creating Safe Spaces through Trauma Informed Supervision
Presentation Overview: Part 1Supervisee are eager to learn and excited to embark on their professional journey. The focus of supervision should be creating a supportive environment for supervises to consult about their work with clients, and advance their skills and knowledge. When operating from a trauma informed lens, supervisors should also support professional growth and encourage learning opportunities. It is crucial for supervisors to create safe spaces for transparency and to mitigate the impacts of vicarious trauma. SpeakerLetitia Huger-Hill Letitia Huger-Hill is a Licensed Clinical Mental Health Counselor, Clinical Supervisor, Emotional Intelligenceexpert and Board Certified Tele-Mental Health Provider in North Carolina. She has over 20 years of experience in the counseling and psychiatry field. Her career began in research with Duke University Medical Center in the Child and Adolescent Psychiatry division.Letitia is the owner of Positive Redirection, PLLC, which offers counseling for couples, individual adults and children with a focus on treating ADHD, Bi-Polar, Anxiety, Depression, PTSD and Trauma. Positive Redirection, PLLC, also provides clinical supervision, business consulting and training.Letitia is also a facilitator of the evidenced-based intervention, "Coping with Work and Family Stress: AWorkplace Preventive Intervention." Beginning her service with Professional Association Boardsin 2012, Letitia has served as Conference Chair (2013-2016) as well as the President of the Licensed Clinical Counselors of NC (Formerly LPCANC) from 2016-2018. She is a Past President of LCCNC and serves as a Board of Reference member and support for current board leaders. |
